As part of the PLUM Project’s ongoing community program, our site team recently visited one of the villages within the project zone within the project area to continue the third phase of our household water purifier distribution initiative.

In this village, families depend almost entirely on rainwater as their main source of clean water. However, due to the high cost of cooking gas cylinders, many households drink this water without boiling it — a practice that poses potential health risks.

Experiencing this firsthand reinforced our commitment to providing a simple yet impactful solution: distributing water purifiers that make rainwater safer and healthier for daily use.

During our latest monitoring, we observed a clear difference — literally. The filtered water was noticeably clearer, fresher, and safer than untreated rainwater. It was inspiring to see how such a modest intervention can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

This effort contributes directly to our long-term goal: ensuring access to clean water for 14,400 people throughout the lifetime of the PLUM Project.

“We believe that environmental conservation and community well-being go hand in hand. Providing access to clean water not only supports public health but also strengthens the resilience and sustainability of the surrounding environment.”
