Pagatan Usaha Makmur (PUM), through its PLUM Project, is spearheading a large-scale nature-based restoration initiative in Central Kalimantan that aims to conserve and rehabilitate over 23,000 hectares of degraded peatland and mangrove ecosystems while simultaneously empowering surrounding communities.
The project integrates ecological goals, such as biodiversity protection and carbon-emission reduction with socio-economic benefits for local villagers, including training in regenerative agriculture, biochar production, and UMKM support, in order to ensure the people are active stakeholders in the process.
